BOOK - WHIPPOORWILL: A Journey Through Loss
This book is a journal journey from a mother through the loss of a child. Just as an upcoming wedding was being planned, her daughter was killed in a tragic car accident. The book offers insight into what to expect as grief progresses. It also covers other life losses such as loss of a job, and loss of health. The author's sudden entrance into an unexpected demotion from her prominant Education career is discussed in the book. Other people's stories are told about their losses and struggles. Proceeds from the book go to help fund the author's non-profit Lighthouse Library project - a library for her tiny, rural Kansas town. The non-profit (ECCRC) also provides other services such as literacy programs, computer classes, and a food bank.
